Chef Ann’s Lunch Lessons: Changing the way we feed our children
Join Berkeley, CA’s Chef Ann on her mission to change the way our children are eating. With her audience-constituents-friends-co-conspirators, she tackles outdated district spending policies, commodity-based food service organizations, political platforms with no mention of school food or child health — and ultimately the USDA — to ensure that kids everywhere have wholesome, nutritious, delicious food at school.

Edible Schoolyard
Why this website: Edible Schoolyard is a project launched in part by Alice Waters, a chef and food advocate, at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School in Berkeley California. In this project, children learn about the connection between what they eat and where it comes from, with the goal of fostering environmental stewardship and revolutionizing the school lunch program. This site was selected because it emphasizes connections — between education and health, between food and health, and between community-building and health.
